NYCDDC – Project Sandy Recovery

NY Professional Services (NYPS) Was a sub-consultant under an agreement with New York Rising Housing Recovering program, providing Program Management Services including but not limited to recognizing the extreme importance of meeting people’s immediate needs and restoring essential services. The Program also included home repairs, rehabilitation, mitigation, and elevation for single-family homes and two-family homes owner-occupied properties and manufactured homes damaged by the Storm.

NYPS worked with the victims of this devastating disaster regarding the economic impact of recovering from this superstorm and rebuilding the community.

Our case management specialists and supervisors had over five years of experience in recovery efforts. The Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) operated this major Superstorm Sandy Recovery project under the NY Rising Housing Recovery.  GOSR’ S and NYPS’ goal was to make and follow strategic decisions to speed up the distribution of funds, empower individuals in their recoveries and provide them with options for resiliency measures.

Our main goal was getting families back in their homes while simultaneously ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) requirements.
