NYCDDC – Project No. PS-312W1

Rehabilitation of Interceptor Sewers & Appurtenances in Various Locations In Bronx, Manhattan, Queens & Staten Island

NY Professional Services (NYPS) has been retained as a sub-consultant to provide Resident Engineering Inspection Services (REI Services) for this significant project: Intercepting Sewers, Citywide Rehab/repairs of sewer and sewer lining. These repairs restored the existing sewer pipe and increased the useful life of the drainage structure. Our inspector was responsible for monitoring the by-pass pumping, the CIPP lining, and the measuring of the ling at the end of the operation. He needed to report any accident or any incidents. He had to make sure the contractor followed the rules outlined in the Contract Document. He also had to make sure if the contractor crew entered a confined space, air monitoring system, lights, mask safety gaggles, and proper suit, as well as harnesses, were being used. Our inspector oversaw monitoring the TV recording of the sewer line before and after liner installation to prevent any inconsistencies and rejection of the completed task.
