REI Services for Green Infrastructure Flushing Creek Borough of Queens.

NY Professional Services (NYPS) was the Sub-Consultant to Techno Consult, Inc., on this $7.5 Million Green Infrastructure, Bioswales project. NYC Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) has managed this capital construction project installing new Green Infrastructure (GI) in various locations throughout Queens. The project involves the construction of approximately 300 Right-of-Way Bioswales (ROWBS) and other green infrastructure in the Flushing Bay area (Tallman Island CSO tributary area), including curb and sidewalk reconstruction, pavement markings, and traffic work.

 

This project aimed was to manage stormwater, which will improve water quality in local waterways and lessen street flooding.

Work completed:

  • Completed 300 bioswales Including, Rain gardens, and infiltration basins.
  • Planted 36 Trees
  • Planted 1500+ shrubs & perennials
  • Seeded Grass.
  • Finished 80 Tree Guards
  • Painted Curbs & installed new sidewalks
