Reconstruction of West 33rd. Street Borough of Manhattan

NY Professional Services (NYPS) provided Resident Engineering Inspection Services to this NYC Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) capital project. As part of the Hudson Yards development, this project will improve sewer and water capacity, and infrastructure on West 33rd Street. Project scope includes:

  • Installation of combined 36” and 12” water mains and new hydrants.
  • Installation of new micro piles to support new retaining walls along the north curb on 33rd street.
  • Installation of New Catch Basins and Manholes.
  • Installation of New Electrical Services for the office towers built on W33rd Street.
  • Rising the existing street to a new legal grade 15 feet high.
  • Installation of new street lighting and traffic signals.
  • Demolishing portion of the 11th Avenue Viaduct and replacing new bridge abutment.
  • New expansion bearings and micro piles drilled 10 feet into bedrock.
  • Construction of a new bridge deck with HP (high performance) concrete as per NYSDOT specifications.
  • Reconstruction part of MTA Hudson Yards Park’s retaining wall.
  • Installation of new concrete sidewalks and pavement markers.
