Community Outreach

Our Construction Community Liaisons (CCL) have formal education, are well trained in public relations and communications, and serve proudly as a medium between the public and NYCDDC.

They develop and foster deep relationships with the community they work in to complete all project tasks effectively. They are responsible and can quickly identify and resolve community issues by communicating with all the project stakeholders, the sponsoring agency, and the REI team.
Some of the duties of the CCL are but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and maintaining an updated mailing list.
  • Meeting with community boards to provide project updates. 
  • Preparing and emailing weekly project reports to NYCDDC. 
  • Organizing and conducting project presentations to the community, community boards, and stakeholders.
  • Preparing and updating the community, constituents, community boards about construction schedules and completed fieldwork. 
  • Updating and coordinating with Community Boards, elected officials, stakeholders, and other block leaders about construction activities. 
  • Assisting and preparing for progress meetings. 
  • Reporting, directing, and documenting homeowners’ complaints due to road construction, excavation, etc., to DDC Main Office and the Contractor. 
  • Distribution of advance water main shut down notices and other advisories to homeowners, schools, churches, businesses, and other stakeholders. 
  •  Preparing and distributing the bi-monthly newsletter to the public, community advisory notices, and distributing and collecting surveys from businesses and homeowners.
